چکیده

The study on the machinability of titanium alloys provides new ways to minimize difficulty levels machining due substantial heat accumulation. To improve machinability, pivotal factors such as accumulation and cutting temperature must be regulated. In this study, a turning operation was performed Ti-6Al-4V reduced by supplying cooled CO2 gas through vortex tube connected with two nozzles. Variations in force, temperature, surface roughness speed, feed, depth cut were recorded. Subsequently, responses compared for single nozzle tube, dry, compressed air environments at different speeds. Cutting force followed similar trend which increased decreasing increasing feed cut. all three variables. proposed cooling system provided better results terms roughness, while marginally higher observed dry

Fatigue of Ti-6Al-4V

Metallic biomaterials have essentially three fields of use; these are the artificial hip joints, screw, plates and nails for internal fixation of fractures, and dental implants. Any of these devices must support high mechanical load and resistance of material against breakage is essential. High mechanical properties are needed for structural efficiency of surgical and dental implants. But their...

Comprehensive study of chip morphology in turning of Ti-6Al-4V

In machining of Ti-6Al-4V alloy, the formation of saw tooth chips takes place at relatively low cutting speeds in comparison to other materials such as hardened steels. Study of chip morphology is important to understand the cutting force variation, surface integrity and chip breakability of the alloy. In this work, an attempt has been made to study the effect of cutting speed, feed rate and de...

Strain-based fatigue data for Ti–6Al–4V ELI under fully-reversed and mean strain loads

This article presents the experimental data supporting the study to obtain the mean strain/stress effects on the fatigue behavior of Ti-6Al-4V ELI. A series of strain-controlled fatigue experiments on Ti-6Al-4V ELI were performed at four strain ratios (-1, -0.5, 0, and 0.5). Two types of data are included for each specimen. These are the hysteresis stress-strain responses for the cycle in a log...
